10 Dos and Don’ts for Beautiful Skin

1. The Golden Rule

Do: Make sure you regularly (and we mean always) separate your makeup before hitting the Bed. The skin wants to breathe overnight. And makeup blocks that, as neglecting it on overnight clogs the pores which may generate blemishes and/or blackheads. Don’t own a makeup remover? Just place some olive oil on a cotton block and lightly massage the oil onto your face to get rid of the makeup and dirt.

Don’t: Ignore that shedding is needed. At least once or twice a week, exfoliate your skin to eliminate the layers of dead skin, certain to leave you with an extra healthy glow and brighter skin. You can also use a paste of walnut in powder form with yogurt to shed your skin, as the antioxidants existing in walnuts help eliminate dirt and promote radiant skin.

 Never neglect to exfoliate your skin and eliminate the makeup before calling it a night.

2. Sun and Skin

Do: Use sunscreen with SPF of at least 15 that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. After a lifetime of sun exposure can create wrinkles, age spots, and other skin difficulties, you have to defend your skin from the sun. Make sure the label reads ‘noncomedogenic’ or ‘non-acnegenic’ so that the product does not lead to blocking pores. 

Don’t: Skip the sunscreen, whether it’s cloudy or cold outside (no excuses). If you’re going to a beach or around contemplative surfaces like snow or ice, lather your coat up with some more sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.

3. You are What You Eat

Do: Hold a note of what you place on your plate. Consume fresh fruits, greens, enough protein and vitamins. A good diet rich in vitamin C and low in fats and sugar promotes bright skin. Acknowledge a low-sugar diet, which can have insulin levels down, enabling cells to maintain healthy stability.

“Don’t: Eat spicy and fermented foods, salt, citrus fruits, fried food. Instead favor more soothing foods such as rice, oatmeal, and applesauce”, tells American author and Ayurvedic physician, Vasant Lad, in The Complete Book of Ayurvedic Home Remedies.

4. Sweat It Out!

Do: Exercise daily. Running, jogging and yoga will provide your body the needed blood circulation, and also stimulate the cleansing process of your whole body. You will see a glow on your face after working out. Racing against time? Just take a quick walk around the block.

Don’t: Skip skincare before and after a workout. Use a toner to help minimize oil products before heading out. Flake after, and then apply shea butter or olive oil to moisturize the skin.

5. Beauty Sleep

Do: Hydrate yourself. Consume and drink lots of water daily, at most limited 8 glasses if not more. Also, eat fruits and greens that have a high water content such as cucumber, orange, watermelon, strawberry, grapefruit, and cantaloupe. Ayurvedic physician, Vasant Lad suggests to “drink water from a blue colored bottle”, since it has a cooling impact.

Don’t: Ignore rose water. It prevents and reduces eye puffiness in the morning, keeps pH balance, and naturally hydrates your skin if you spritz it on throughout the day.

7. Goodbye Acne

“Do: Clean your face with warm water, three times a day, and lightly massage your face in orbicular motions, assuring that the cleanser includes alpha hydroxyl acid or beta hydroxyl acid. Face packs that contain multani mitti (fuller’s earth) work well too. After cleansing, pat dry and use a lotion which includes benzoyl peroxide”, suggests Dr. Zaheer Ahmed, Dermatologist, Max Hospitals. Benzoyl peroxide seems to be effective due to its antibacterial actions.

Don’t: Pop pimples because it can commence to more swelling, redness, and even hurting. Feel a pimple is on its method? Just clean the region with rose water, and put a chilled green tea bag for 10 minutes. Also, if you use glasses or sunglasses, make sure you clean them regularly to keep oil from closing the pores around your eyes and nose.

8. Go Back to Your Roots

Do: Apply Ayurvedic scrubs to nourish the skin, and maintain it breathe better. 9. Spa Day Everyday?

Do: Have a daily skincare regimen. “For dry skin, use a pure cherry mask. Use the pulp of fresh cherries on your face before moving to bed. Leave for 15 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water”, adds American author Vasant Lad.

Don’t: Skip to pamper yourself. A soothing facial massage with oils could work miracles. Depending on your skin type, prefer oils from mustard, coconut, almond, or Kumkadi as they are super nourishing agents that help to get bright skin. Better still – turn on some soothing effective music. After 20 minutes, what do you have? Beautiful skin and a relaxed you.

10. Healthy Habits

Do: Get out time for yourself, and analyze to avoid stress as much as feasible. Have you ever saw that when you are emphasized, you tend to break out more? This is because stress makes your body produce cortisol and other hormones, giving the skin more oily. Practice stress control techniques like breathing practices, yoga, and meditation. The more you think, the more you radiate.

Don’t: Forget your jawline and facial muscles. For only 5 minutes a day, perform some facial exercises. You can jut out you’re below lip in such a way that wrinkles are formed on the chin, then lower your chin to your chest. Another exercise that acts wonders is to look up towards the cover and pout. It stretches out the muscles making the skin more firm. “18 till I die”, why not?
